One of the great challenges for photographers today is keeping your photos organized. There are two best of bread applications that are the standard for professional photographers.  Adobe Photoshop Lightroom is available on both Mac and PC but costs $149 to buy.  Apple Aperture is only available on Mac and comes with a lower price tag of $79. What if you don’t want to spend your hard earned money on software and you want free alternatives to Aperture and Lightroom. Below you will find my top 5 free alternatives to Aperture and Lightroom.

Picasa (PC and Mac)

Initially released in 2002 Picasa has slowly and steadily evolved to include all sorts of great features.  Picasa is one of the most well known free alternatives to Aperture and Lightroom.
